Celtic are poised to appoint Wilfried Nancy as boss after a week battling it out with Columbus Crew over compensation.
Record Sport revealed 10 days ago the Hoops were in advanced talks with the Frenchman – and personal terms were all but agreed within 48 hours.
Columbus were resigned to losing the head coach but were determined to play hardball as Celtic were forced to spend almost a week locked in negotiations at the very highest level between both clubs – and are now close to being concluded.
The discussions were also further complicated by Nancy’s hopes at bringing some of his Crew backroom staff to Scotland, including assistant Kwame Ampadu, along with first team analyst Max Chalier and fitness chief Jules Gueguen.
