MADISON, Wis. -- A camper was totaled in a fire on Madison's southeast side Saturday night, and it's still unclear what caused the fire.

A Madison Fire Department spokesperson said crews were called to the intersection of Kipp Street and Kipp Circle just after 8 p.m. The camper, as well as the passenger compartment of a truck behind the camper, were in flames when they arrived.

Firefighters first had to put out flames that were threatening nearby propane tanks. They then turned their focus to the rest of the trailer.

Nobody was found inside the camper. Damages were estimated at about $3,000.
