CUBA CITY, Wis. -- A Cuba City woman was arrested Saturday morning after shooting another woman in the knee, the Grant County Sheriff's Office said.

Law enforcement was called to a home near the intersection of North Clinton Street and East Lafayette Street just before 5 a.m. A man told 911 dispatchers that his girlfriend was shot by another woman at the home.

The 23-year-old gunshot victim was taken to Southwest Health Center in Platteville then taken by helicopter to another medical facility.

A 25-year-old Cuba City woman was arrested on charges of endangering safety by use of a dangerous weapon. The Grant County Sheriff's Office said additional charges may be forthcoming.

The shooting is considered an isolated incident and there is no further risk to the Cuba City community.
