CLEVELAND — Shedeur Sanders' promising first NFL start at quarterback didn't just inspire Cleveland Browns fans, it made an impression on President Donald Trump.

In a post on his Truth Social social media site Monday morning, President Trump gave a shoutout to Sanders after the Browns' 24-10 victory over the Raiders in Las Vegas:

"Shedeur Sanders was GREAT. Wins first game, career start, as a pro (for Cleveland). Great Genes. I TOLD YOU SO!"

It's actually not the first time that our nation's chief executive has heaped praise on the rookie quarterback.

As Sanders was being passed over by teams during the first two days of the NFL Draft in April, Trump took to Truth Social to express his displeasure:
