PHOENIX – The Pentagon is investigating U.S. Sen. Mark Kelly of Arizona over him telling military members they don’t have to follow illegal orders.

The Associated Press said the Pentagon is investigating Kelly, a former Navy pilot, for possible breaches of military law after he appeared along with four other Democratic members of Congress in a video last week calling for military and intelligence communities to refuse illegal orders from their commanding officers and superiors.

On Thursday, President Donald Trump had called the video “seditious behavior, punishable by death.”

Why did Sen. Mark Kelly say military can defy illegal orders?

On Sunday, Kelly said he and the others in the video have received increased threats in the wake of Trump’s reaction.
