Sometimes the people that get paid to dissect and debate college football just don’t know ball. This weekend, which may be the most impactful in SEC and college football history, will stand as Exhibit A.

College GameDay will take its traveling circus to what they call The Game in Ann Arbor as No. 1 Ohio State visits No. 15 Michigan. Great rivalry, but five of the last seven games in that series were decided by 11, 15, 22, 23 and 29 points. Only Gus Johnson could manufacture enthusiasm for those snoozers.

SEC Nation, which should know better, will set up on Rocky Top to hype No. 12 Vanderbilt at No. 18 Tennessee. It’s not much of a rivalry, historically or recently. The Vols have won the last six meetings by a total margin of 160 points. They shut down Diego Pavia last season 36-23.
