An investigation is ongoing after deadly shooting Sunday in Tuscaloosa.
Authorities on Monday said issues of self-defense have been raised in the case, and no arrests have been made.
Tuscaloosa police were dispatched at 4 p.m. to a report of a person shot in the 600 block of 30th Avenue.
They arrived to find a male dead. His name and age have not been released.
Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit Capt. Jack Kennedy said the shooter remained on the scene.
“After interviewing the shooter, issues of self-defense were raised in this case,” Kennedy said. “The deceased was found to be armed at the time he was shot.”
Kennedy said once the investigation is complete, the findings will be turned over to a Tuscaloosa County grand jury to determine any potential charges.
