SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - On Nov. 15, an SUV and Remsen St. Mary’s activity bus collided at the C-80 intersection on Highway 75.

An intersection that the Iowa Department of Transportation says has been on its monitoring list due to ongoing developments and increasing traffic volumes.

Neighbors in the area said they had been advocating for change after an accident at that intersection claimed the life of a 64-year-old man back in March 2025 .

Less than a week after the accident that involved over a dozen people, the Iowa DOT has installed new safety measures.

In an email to KTIV, District 3 Engineer, Jessica Felix wrote:

Cameras were placed for 60 hours from June 16, 2025, to June 20, 2025, at both C70 and C80. The Iowa DOT has received the diagnostic report and is reviewing it internal
