NORTH SIOUX CITY, S.D. (KTIV) - South Dakota was one of the states hit by the devastating 2024 floods , with the North Sioux City area seeing infrastructure and homes destroyed.

The United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has approved a relief plan to help North Sioux City, carrying with it millions of dollars in funds.

"HUD approved South Dakota’s Community Development Block Grant – Disaster Relief (CDBG-DR) Action Plan for North Sioux City, marking an important step forward in the community’s long-term recovery efforts‚" stated the South Dakota Governor’s Office in a press release.

According to the action plan, South Dakota is expected to receive $15,375,000 in funding to support long-term recovery efforts following the 2024 flooding.
