ASHLAND CITY, Tenn. (WSMV) - The Cheatham County School District is investigating a possible “targeted threat” at Harpeth High School (HHS).

The district reported Monday morning that all students are safe; However, both HHS and Harpeth Middle School are under precautionary lockouts.

“Because of the proximity of the two schools, both are on a lockout,” the district added.

Students from Pegram Elementary Fine Arts Magnet School, Kingston Springs Elementary School and HMS were at the high school for a school function and were returned to their respective schools on a bus.

“No direct threats were made against any elementary or middle school student,” the district said. “We will provide additional information when it is available.”
