NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - A 17-year-old is behind bars in connection to an August robbery and shooting of another teen in Nashville.
Police say that they were able to identify the 17-year-old suspect after he accidentally shot a 16-year-old in the abdomen Sunday night. That accidental shooting happened at about 7:45 p.m. at an apartment on Charles E. Davis Boulevard, according to Metro Nashville Police.
A department press release said the 17-year-old admitted to shooting the 16-year-old, who was seriously injured and hospitalized at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
“During an interview, he told detectives that he had pressed the trigger of his pistol, not realizing a round had been chambered, striking the victim,” the press release said.
