On Monday at 12:08 p.m. the National Weather Service issued a winter storm watch valid from Thursday 1 a.m. until Friday 7 p.m. for Warren and McKean counties.
The weather service describes, "Heavy lake effect snow possible. Total snow accumulations 6 inches or more possible. Winds could gust as high as 40 mph."
"Plan on slippery road conditions. The heavy snow and gusty winds may result in significant to widespread Thanksgiving holiday travel disruptions. Gusty winds may produce areas of blowing and drifting snow," explains the weather service. "Be prepared for travel disruptions and rapid changes in visibility and road conditions."
