Chelsea — Grocery prices are up about 3% year-over-year as Americans prepare their Thanksgiving meals, but shoppers this month still could find Jiffy's six-corn muffin mix in its unmistakable blue-and-white boxes for as low as 50 cents on Walmart shelves.

Supply chain disruptions, higher energy and labor costs and new tariffs have contributed to increases in food costs for Americans. Jiffy mix parent Chelsea Milling Co., however, has managed to continue to offer its low-cost product with Howard S. Holmes II, CEO and president of the privately owned company, attributing advantages to its location in Michigan with access to Midwest agriculture production and railway and highway transportation.
