GENOA, Ohio — Genoa coach Bill Fisher has fully embraced the century-old, successful tradition of Comets football, and he has added his own memorable chapter to the legacy.
Fisher, who is in his fourth year, led the Comets to the program's first Northern Buckeye Conference title since 2018.
Genoa went 11-2 and reached the Division V regional final game. The Comets won 11 consecutive games after losing to Archbold 33-28 in the season opener.
The impressive winning streak under Fisher included wins over NBC favorite Oak Harbor, a convincing 34-19 win on Sept. 26, and a 42-27 victory vs Eastwood on Oct. 10.
Fisher, who has a 30-16 record, has been named The Blade’s Coach of the Year.
Genoa won the NBC title outright with a 7-0 record.
