EDDIE HOWE has challenged his Newcastle United players not to allow Saturday’s stunning win over Manchester City to be a flash in the pan as they attempt to strengthen their grip on Champions League qualification.

The Magpies take on Marseille in the Stade Velodrome tomorrow night looking for a fourth successive win in Europe, but still bemoaning the run of domestic form which has left them sitting in 14th place in the Premier League table despite the weekend’s heroics.

Head coach Howe is well aware that consistency has been an issue, and is now looking for a run of positive results to build momentum.
