Alabama football’s upcoming opponent has changed quite a bit from the beginning of the season. Auburn fired Hugh Freeze earlier this year , promoting DJ Durkin to the interim job.
Freeze had an offensive background, but the Tigers struggled mightily on that side of the ball until his firing. On Monday, Kalen DeBoer was asked how AU had changed on film since the firing.
The Crimson Tide’s head coach pointed directly at Freeze’s side of the ball.
“I think probably offensively maybe,” DeBoer said. “You can see maybe a little bit of a philosophical change just with the offense and what they’re trying to do. Maybe that as much as anything. They seem to be playing free and putting up a lot of points in the last two weeks.”
