LINCOLN, Neb. (KTIV) - The Cornhuskers and Hawkeyes will be in Lincoln on Friday, Nov. 28, for the 15th annual Heroes Game. As part of the rivalry game, citizen heroes from each state are to be recognized.
The Iowa hero this year is Jayce Koob, a 12-year-old from Northwest Iowa’s Orange City.
According to a Nebraska Cornhuskers press release, Koob is a 6th grader from MOC-Floyd Valley Community School District. In September 2025 , Koob woke up in the middle of the night to heavy smoke and alarms, but was able to get out of the burning home and get help.
