LAWRENCE, Kan. (KCTV) - The Lawrence Police Department says that an Overland Park man was arrested over the weekend for allegedly holding a group at gunpoint for hours.

According to arrest records, Garnel Andreus Moore Wiliams was taken into custody around 3 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 23, near 3250 Michigan Street.

LKPD’s crisis response team had been called to that area earlier, where they found a victim with dried blood on his head.

The victim told investigators that around midnight, he and about eight other people were at a friend’s home when one of the men, Williams, said someone had stolen money from him. Williams became angry and pulled out a gun, refusing to let anyone leave until he found the money.
