For the first time since a stabbing resulted in injuries to two UAB football players on Saturday , UAB Director of Athletics Mark Ingram spoke publicly about the incident on Monday.

Daniel Mincey, a 20-year-old redshirt freshman offensive lineman, was arrested Saturday morning on charges of aggravated assault and attempted murder during a stabbing that occurred at UAB’s Football Operations Center. The incident occurred hours before UAB’s 48-18 loss to South Florida and sent two Blazers players to the hospital.
