OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - A house fire in southwest Omaha displaced two people Friday morning.
According to an Omaha Fire Department release, crews were dispatched to a home near S 119th Street & Westwood Lane just after 9:30 a.m. Friday.
At the scene, crews found flames coming from the car port of the home’s attached garage, and had spread to the roof of the garage.
OFD says a nearby home was also damaged by the fire and a nearby power line was found down near the fire.
An investigation found the cause of the fire to be "the careless disposal of the remains and ash from a wood burning stove," according to OFD.
Two people were displaced as a result of the fire, OFD says.
No one was injured as a result of the fire. Damages to the home are estimated to be $22,200.
