OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - People in the metro are getting geared up for Thanksgiving plans. Some plan to stay in the area while others traveling in have faced some snarls.

While the holiday can be a stressful time for most, many people are embracing the chaos.

Local families keep it simple

Picking out groceries may top the list of dullest holiday tasks, but Noel and Sam Stevenson already have their mental grocery list ready.

“Steaks? We gotta go get the ice cream and we need rolls from the freezer,” one of them said.

They’re going to a Thanksgiving celebration, then a Friendsgiving this weekend. Sam’s doing all the cooking.

“I love cooking, one of my pastime hobbies. I cook in cast iron pans,” Sam said.
