NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — A Walmart store in Newport News was evacuated Sunday after a bomb threat, Newport News police confirmed on Monday.
The bomb threat was reported at 1:05 p.m. It affected the Walmart store on Jefferson Avenue near Bland Boulevard.
Newport News police said authorities evacuated the store and conducted a thorough search, but the threat was deemed unfounded.
No arrests have been made yet, but the threat remains under investigation, police said.
