A Phoenix law firm is looking to help women who may not have the funds for menstrual products.
Phillips Law Group in Phoenix partnered with Women4Women Tempe to create packs of products to distribute to those in need across the Valley this holiday season.
“Disadvantaged women should not have to be forced to choose between basic hygiene and other essential items like food or clothing. We're filling the gap, fighting for women and their dignity and the basic products they need,” said Olivia Lemorrocco, vice president of operations for Phillips Law Group.
The National Organization of Women estimates the average American woman spends more than $18,000 in a lifetime on menstrual products. For people who live in poverty, these can be extremely difficult to access during a monthly cycle.
