A former Houston Police Department captain was indicted on multiple federal charges of sexual exploitation of children, coercion and enticement of a minor, and possession of child pornography.

Daryn Edwards, 59, was arrested on Friday, according to federal court records, after he was indicted on Nov. 18. Edwards pleaded not guilty during a hearing on the same day as his arrest.

Coercion and enticement of a minor could result in life in prison; sexual exploitation of children carries a term of up to 20 years in prison; and child pornography possession has a sentence of up to 10 years in prison.
