WACO, Texas (KWTX) - A Waco businessman remains free on bond after his arrest on felony theft charges related to a dispute over auto repairs.
Brian Schroeder, identified in arrest documents as co-owner of Waco Motorsports, 4901 Franklin Ave., was charged with theft of more than $2,500 but less than $30,000 for “acquiring or exercising control over” a 2005 Nissan Frontier pickup valued at $5,171.
According to an arrest affidavit, a Waco man took the truck to Quality Care Auto Shop, 2012 W. Waco Drive, for repairs on Oct. 4, 2024.
On June 26, the truck was taken to Waco Motorsports after Quality Auto Care closed. The affidavit states the mechanic who worked on the pickup at Quality Care also worked at Waco Motorsports.
