A petrol station customer who decided at the last minute not to buy a lottery scratchcard ended up making a colossal blunder. That's because the fortunate punter who approached the counter moments later chose to purchase the abandoned scratch card immediately scooped £760,000.
The 33-year old winner, who has opted to stay anonymous, revealed the ticket had been put to one side so he reckoned he'd take a chance. The lucky lottery punter from Michigan intends to put aside his windfall, but confessed that his victory does bring a certain amount of pressure.
"I scratched the ticket off and couldn't believe it when I saw it was a $1million (£760k) winner," he added. "I never would have thought I'd win such a large lottery prize, so it's truly a blessing."
