LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Strong winds headline the forecast into the day on Tuesday - any holiday decorations will need to be tied down ahead of what is expected to be a very windy day across the state!
High Wind Watches & Warnings as well as Wind Advisories have been issued by the various National Weather Service offices across the state.
Behind a sharp cold front, northwest winds will be sustained between 20 and 30 MPH for most of the state with wind gusts between 40 and 60 MPH at times. The strongest gusts will likely stay across central and western parts of the state - where gusts could approach 60 MPH at times. Winds won’t be quite as strong in eastern Nebraska, where high wind gusts will likely stay between 40 and 50 MPH. Winds should begin to decrease after sunset Tuesday evening -
