Loved ones of a 35-year-old Connecticut man and his 12-year-old son, who were killed in a weekend crash, are rallying around his 10-year-old boy, who survived the wreck.
Ismael Pacheco Sr. and Ismael Pacheco Jr. were killed in a Saturday, Nov. 22, crash in Bristol.
A GoFundMe campaign hopes to raise $8,000 to help cover the costs of their funerals.
"Our hearts are completely broken as we share the devastating loss of my 12-year-old son, Ismael Pacheco, who tragically passed away in a car accident in Bristol on Saturday, November 22, 2025," the campaign, created by Coraima Maldonado, said. "This sudden tragedy has left our family in unimaginable pain as we try to make sense of a loss no parent should ever experience.
"Ismael was a bright, sweet, and loving boy whose smile brought joy to everyone around him. His life was full of kindness, laughter, and so much love. Losing him so suddenly has left a void that can never be filled."
Pacheco Sr. was driving north on Willis Street when his 2006 Honda Civic left the roadway and hit a tree shortly before 11 a.m., Bristol police said. The impact crumpled the car, trapping the father and the 12-year-old in the driver’s seat and front passenger seat.
First responders performed first aid as police cut them from the vehicle. Paramedics rushed all three victims, including the 10-year-old in the backseat, to Bristol Hospital, where Pacheco Sr. and Ismael Jr. later died.
The younger boy suffered injuries that were not life-threatening.
An email to Bristol police on Monday seeking an update on his condition was not immediately returned.
A memorial service for Ismael Sr. and Ismael Pacheco Jr. is set for Friday, Nov. 28, at 5 p.m. at Casey Funeral Home in Waterbury.
The crash remains under investigation.
Police ask anyone with information that could assist them to contact Officer Kosiba at 860-584-3035 or ryankosiba@bristolct.gov.
