SPRING, Texas – Residents in a Spring neighborhood described the seconds they had to take cover as a tornado barreled through their community.

KPRC 2’s Gage Goulding spoke to several residents whose homes and property were damaged as trees toppled along Village Hill Drive on Monday afternoon.

A tornado warning was issued for multiple Houston-area counties as a cold front brought a cluster of severe storms, including at least one confirmed tornado.

The Klein and Spring fire departments also responded to the neighborhood for a possible gas leak caused by uprooted trees and structural damage.

Goulding spoke with one man who said he was inside his office when he heard a TV report about a tornado spotted near SH-249 and Grant Road, close to where he was.
