Crews are investigating after a vehicle crashed into the front of a nail salon in a Newtown shopping plaza Monday morning.

Newtown fire officials said they responded to the Big Y shopping center for a report of a vehicle into a building around 10:30 a.m.

Responding crews assessed structural damage while emergency personnel evaluated those involved.

It's unknown how many people were hurt, or the extent of their injuries.

Newtown Hook & Ladder said people should be aware that some businesses in the shopping center may be impacted by the crash.

They're encouraging residents to call ahead before visiting the area.
