A UAB offensive lineman accused of stabbing two teammates before Saturday’s game made his first appearance before a judge Monday via Zoom from the Jefferson County Jail.
Daniel Mincey, a 20-year-old redshirt freshman, is charged with attempted murder of JaSire Peterson and with first-degree assault of Josh Underwood, according to court records made public Monday.
A judge set Mincey’s bond at $90,000, records show.
He remained in the Jefferson County Jail as of early Monday afternoon.
Court records do not yet list an attorney to comment on Mincey’s behalf.
A motive has not yet been made public.
UAB Interim Head Coach Alex Mortensen said Monday that he has met with the injured players and their families and said both have been released from the hospital and are recovering.
