A months-long investigation into credit card fraud led to the arrest of 31-year-old Lompoc resident Francisco Monroy, who is facing multiple felony charges, according to the Lompoc Police Department.

The case began in August, when a victim reported her credit card stolen and used at “multiple local businesses,” according to detectives, who later identified Monroy as the suspect.

During the follow-up investigation, detectives also learned Monroy had been “driving a vehicle belonging to a Lompoc resident from the Country Club area who had recently passed away.” The executor of the estate reported the vehicle stolen along with other property “believed to have been stolen from the residence.”
