KILLEEN, Texas (KWTX) - Thanksgiving is just days away and that means people are already hitting the roads and airports celebrate with friends and family.
According to AAA, 5.7 million Texans traveled for the Thanksgiving holiday in 2024.
That includes both road and air travel through large airports and small regional ones like Killeen.
An increase Alfred Palmieri, Operations Manager, City of Killeen Aviation Department, said Killeen Regional Airport sees every year.
“We have our normally scheduled flights,” said Palmieri. “We have a small uptick on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. Then, real slow travel on Thanksgiving and the day after. Then it starts to pick up on the weekend.”
Things like weather have already started impacting flights in Killeen.
