Shots were fired at a car carrying a mother and daughter following a fight outside Capitol High School last week, according to Baton Rouge police. The pair escaped injury, and two people have been arrested in the case.

Charles Mitchell, 19, was arrested Wednesday in connection with the drive-by shooting. Authorities say Mitchell drove a juvenile shooter as they followed the victims, then signaled when to open fire.

According to Mitchell's arrest affidavit, officers responded around 2:45 p.m. Nov. 20 to reports of gunfire on Sherwood Street. They found shell casings at the scene and a red Honda Accord with a bullet hole on nearby Elm Drive.

The car's owner told police her teenage daughter had been in a physical fight with another juvenile at Capitol High School earlier that afternoon. Sh
