But an upper body injury heading into the first game of the regular season this past weekend changed all that.

Fast was still in Minnesota and determined to keep her Iron Woman streak alive, but even she had to admit after her morning skate that she was not quite right.

It still took some persuading by head coach Troy Ryan and his staff, but with a full week between games, the call was made to give Fast the night off and watch from the press box and allow whatever that mystery upper body ailment was to fully heal.

“It sucks for sure,” Fast said following practice on Monday.
