PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Arizona lawmakers are calling for stricter oversight of sex offenders after a convicted predator who violated probation four times allegedly sexually assaulted a 10-year-old girl at a Phoenix elementary school last week.
The case of Abel Gblah has sparked outrage among parents, community leaders and child safety advocates who say the incident exposes serious flaws in how the state monitors sex offenders on probation.

Republican state Sen. Janae Shamp joined child safety advocates at Arizona State Capitol on Monday to announce plans for tougher legislation targeting sex offender supervision.
