Clark County agencies have teamed up to provide rental assistance to households experiencing financial hardship in the aftermath of a family member being detained or deported by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
Council for the Homeless has partnered with Southwest Washington League of United Latin American Citizens Council 47013 and Latino Leadership NW to allocate $50,000 from the council’s budget toward supporting families who have lost income due to the detainment or deportation of a primary wage earner.
In October, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security announced it has deported a “record-breaking” 52,700 immigrants since President Donald Trump took office in January .
