SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - Saint Joseph High School students, families and staff members came together Monday for the annual H.O.P.E. Thanksgiving Food Drive, aimed at providing meals and support for local families in need during the holiday season.
The event, which has been running since the 1990s, focuses on supporting families not just for Thanksgiving but throughout the entire holiday season.
English teacher Kat Swick, a former Saint Joe student, said the event holds special meaning for her.
“I used to do this when I was a student, so it’s been really cool to come back as a teacher and help with it, and it’s really just good for us for teachers and students alike to be connected with the larger South Bend community in such a special way,” Swick said.
