A Sacramento caretaker is accused of killing a disabled man months before his body was discovered at a South Natomas apartment. Court documents allege Christina Cowens murdered 59-year-old Richard McClintic around July 3, long before police found him dead during a Nov. 6 search. McClintic, who had cerebral palsy and was nonverbal, was first reported missing after a welfare check in late October. Cowens was initially arrested on suspicion of unlawful disposal of human remains, grand theft, and concealing a death before prosecutors filed homicide and fraud charges. She is also accused in a separate complaint of taking a U-Haul truck in July. Cowens is being held without bail, and her next court hearing is set for Jan. 8, 2026.
