Everton are bracing themselves for a spell without Idrissa Gueye following his bizarre red card in the match against Manchester United . The Toffees' midfielder was given his marching orders after an on-pitch confrontation with teammate Michael Keane , which saw goalkeeper Jordan Pickford stepping in to separate the pair.

The referee spotted the incident and promptly showed Gueye the red card. The decision was then reviewed and upheld by VAR.
