MESQUITE, Texas — Mesquite police have arrested a 17-year-old in connection with the shooting of a food-delivery driver last month, authorities announced Monday.
The shooting happened on Oct 27, around 12:23 a.m. in the 2000 block of Birch Bend, Mesquite PD said in a news release. When officers arrived, they found a man with multiple gunshot wounds. Mesquite PD said officers provided lifesaving measures until Mesquite Fire Department crews took over and took the victim to a Dallas-area hospital for treatment.
According to investigators, the victim was delivering food when he became involved in a disturbance outside a residence. During that confrontation, an unidentified man dressed in dark clothing approached and opened fire before running away, police said.
