CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The North Carolina State Board of Elections has mailed another round of notices to more than 73,000 voters whose registrations are missing key identification information.
The effort is part of the Registration Repair Project, a statewide initiative to ensure voter records comply with state and federal requirements. The first wave of letters is going out this week to registrants who have not provided either a driver’s license number or the last four digits of their Social Security number.
“It’s quick. It’s easy. It’s free,” said Sam Hayes, State Board executive director. “We strongly encourage all voters on the Registration Repair list to take action now and avoid any issues the next time they show up to vote.”
