MEDINA, Ohio -- While safety officials went into preventative action Saturday (Nov. 22) after hearing reports of a possible fire during the Medina Candlelight Walk fireworks show, Fire Chief Larry Walters confirmed that it was a false alarm.
“We did receive a call right after the fireworks at the Candlelight Walk about a possible fire on the roof of the (Medina County) Courthouse, but there was no fire,” Walters said.
Walters said that as a precaution during the annual fireworks show, the Medina Fire Department has at least one member stationed on or near the roof of the Common Pleas Courthouse, 93 Public Square.
He said there are additional members of the fire department staged at multiple locations around the square to be on the lookout for any sort of safety hazards.
