A Lancaster man pleaded guilty after the fatal shooting of a 38-year-old man in the parking lot of a downtown bar in 2023 , prosecutors said.

Terrance McCain Jr. was found guilty of third-degree murder and recklessly endangering another person in the fatal shooting of Edward Gardner on Sept. 30 in a parking lot outside the since-closed Capps Bar in the 900 block of South Duke Street, the Lancaster County district attorney’s office said.

Gardner was transported to a hospital, where he died from his injuries, which included a bullet that was lodged in his heart, the DA’s office said.

Video footage from outside the bar, as well as a nearby business, showed McCain getting a handgun from his vehicle before arguing with Gardner in the bar’s parking lot around 1 a.m.
