AIKEN, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) -Three new faces have officially joined the Aiken City Council.

Peter Messina now represents District 4, Braylen Waldo is the new District 5 council member and Barbara Morgan is now representing District 6.

Waldo said he ran for the position to bring a unique generational perspective to the council.

“I look around at the dynamic of our council currently. They all did a great job throughout the previous years, but felt like it was time to sit at the table for the unique generation and 27-year-olds. So that’s why I ran to get involved in our city politics and city government,” said Waldo.

Waldo said he felt his message resonated with voters on November 4th when he won the election.

He also said he’s excited to see what comes of Aiken during his four-year term.
