BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) - 8 people were left without a home Monday night after an apartment went up in flames.

It happened on Pine Street in downtown Burlington. Thankfully, nobody was injured.

First responders say they were first called out because of an odor, but found flames coming out of the building, making it a more serious situation than they expected.

Colchester, South Burlington, Shelburne, and Winooski also responded to the third alarm.

An investigation into the fire has begun. It is unclear for now how the fire started.
