OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - An order to repair a danger has an Omaha senior citizen worried about meeting a deadline and what happens if she doesn’t. But she says responsibility for the hazard isn’t hers alone.

After standing for almost 50 years, a concrete retaining wall suddenly collapsed in August. After getting a city violation notice to repair it, homeowner Christine Locke says her back is against the wall.

“Not a realistic deadline when you’re trying to get people to come and do this work for you because they have their schedules too,” Locke said.

December deadline looms

In mid-September, the city gave Christine 90 days, so the deadline to fix the wall hazard is December 16th.

The city notice states if unresolved violations exist after the deadline date, she could be issued a criminal
