PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Sojourner House hosted its 15th and final Masquerade Ball to raise money for services that support victims of abuse on Nov. 21
According to the organization, over $266,000 was raised to support victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking.
The funds pay for housing, counseling, and crisis intervention services.
Last year, the ball raised $200,000.
“As we close out our final Masquerade Ball, I’m reminded that every dollar raised tonight becomes a lifeline for a survivor who needs safety, stability, and hope,” Sojourner House President and CEO Vanessa Volz said. “Sojourner House has been saying ‘yes, we will help you’ to survivors for nearly fifty years, and with our community’s continued support, we’ll keep saying yes.”
