WASHINGTON — Medical Products Laboratories Inc. is voluntarily recalling after discovering bacterial contamination in the product.

The recall affects Walgreens Saline Nasal Spray with Xylitol, sold in 1.5-ounce bottles. The Food and Drug Administration classified the recall as Class II, meaning use of the product may cause temporary or medically reversible health problems, though the probability of serious harm is remote.

Testing revealed the presence of Pseudomonas lactis, a type of bacteria that can pose risks to people with weakened immune systems or compromised respiratory systems.

The affected products were distributed nationwide and include two lot numbers: 71409, which expires Feb. 28, 2027, and 71861, which expires Aug. 31, 2027. The lot number and expiration date appear on the
