BENSALEM, Pa. (WPVI) -- More than a decade after authorities say he abused his infant son, a Pennsylvania father is now charged with the boy's murder.
Kyle Hinkle, 38, of Allentown, was charged Monday with third-degree murder in the death of his son, Leonardo, who died last year at age 11.
In October 2012, Bensalem police responded to St. Christopher's Hospital, where the child was admitted to the ICU. Doctors determined the injuries were inflicted and caused by significant force consistent with abusive head trauma.
According to investigators, Hinkle admitted he shook the infant multiple times, saying he was unable to stop the crying and did so without supporting the child's head.
He was initially charged with assault, pleaded guilty and was sentenced to two years in prison with three
